Artist Statement

Motifs of my paintings are the landscapes and objects that are familiar to me. I explore forms by repeatedly drawing the motifs and rendering them with colors and lines that are ‘pop.’ The objects depicted in my paintings seems as though they have a sense of movement, as though they are something that has already been there. The viewers who look at the paintings may be conjuring up a landscape that exists within themselves. I create works that give the viewer the feeling of 'being' rather than 'existing.'
