アーティスト・ステイトメント
素材としてグラファイトを使用し、画面を磨き光沢をもたせ、黒く鉛のような質感の画面に、銀箔・岩絵具といった日本画の素材を使用してモノクロームでミニマムな作品を制作。
グラファイトの空間を「間」として捉え、日本的な空間の美と平面性をもち、時間や音、切り花をテーマとしたシリーズを展開。
Using graphite as a material, I produce monochrome, minimalist works using Japanese painting materials such as silverleaf and mineral pigments on a screen with a black, lead-like texture, polished to a luster.
I viewsthe graphite space as "ma" (space between two things) and has a Japanese sense of beauty of space and flatness, developing a series of works based on the themesof time, sound, and cut flowers.
今回の作品について
ホテルへ伺った際、エントランスではちょうどウエディングフォトを撮影していたり、食事をしたり、ホテル内を散策したり、多くの方がホテルをいう場所を宿泊だけではなく思い出や出会いとして利用されていました。
今回の作品はホテルという空間に寄り添うような形で、私が普段制作している作品シリーズの中から作品を制作しました。
When I visited the hotel, I found that many people were using the hotel not only for lodging but also for memories and encounters, including a wedding photo shoot at the entrance, people having meals, and people walking around the hotel.
For this exhibition, I created a work froma series of works that I usually produce, which is a work that accompanies the space of the hotel.
